You already know you should list with a licensed real estate broker, now how do you choose one? Unfortunately
you can't believe everything you hear. Most companies will claim to be the biggest, the best, the quickest, and
so on. Always verify claims with a third party or independent source. Do your homework.
is the company a licensed real estate brokerage?
does the company employ licensed real estate agents on staff?
does the company take agency of your listing with a real listing contract?
does the company have a satisfactory record with the BBB?
is the company a respected ARDA trustee member?
Do not list your timeshare until you are comfortable with the broker, and NEVER pay any money or sign anything until understand exactly what service the broker is offering.

The biggest confusion in timeshare resales centers around what services you are getting. If you pay
$250 or more, you are probably paying for traditional advertising. Your ad appears in print, or on a
website next to similar ads. Beware of "false brokers" companies who act like a broker, often occupying
the same building as a real estate company, but they are not licensed and have you sign an
"Advertising Agreement", or "Internet Ad". In most cases, you just paid for and received all the
service you are going to get, with no recourse. You are left out in the cold. It is a classic bait
and switch tactic.
